About Us

Team 9876 is based out of Capital High School in Olympia, WA. Our name, The Countdown, inspired us to make our team’s theme steampunk, as clocks and gears heavily relate to the steampunk aesthetic. We are a class team that meets after school with our sister teams 13484 and 20118. 9876 is in its 11th FTC season. This year, our team consists of six members, all of whom are FTC veterans. We are committed to bringing FIRST robotics to, and supporting, our local and international community.

Our Mission

Our primary team mission is to make it to the World Championship while making a difference in our community. Besides reaching the World Championship, we work hard to make STEM available to students across the globe. 9876 aims to bring robotics to the world stage, from the rocky beaches of the Pacific Northwest to the desert sands of Cairo, Egypt. To achieve our mission, we prioritize the development of our team members’ skills and experience, fostering a culture of growth, innovation, and collaboration.
